Phyllida Law, the Scottish actress and mother of Emma and Sophie Thompson, died peacefully at home at age 94. A Bristol Old Vic alum, Law appeared in film and theatre alongside her daughters—highlighted by roles in Emma, Much Ado About Nothing, and Nanny McPhee—and was awarded an OBE in 2014 for her contributions to drama and charity. She is survived by her two daughters and three grandchildren.
