UNC's Caleb Wilson sidelined for season with broken right thumb
North Carolina freshman forward Caleb Wilson, a 6'10" projected top-five NBA draft pick, suffered a broken right thumb in a non-contact practice drill and underwent season-ending surgery. He had been out with a left-hand fracture earlier but was optimistic about returning for a game against Duke before the latest injury; UNC sits 24-6 overall, 12-5 in the ACC and is projected as a No. 5 seed in the NCAA Tournament, with Wilson expected to be cleared during the NBA pre-draft process in May.
