Trump's Immigration Crackdown Threatens to Overshadow Senate's Border Security Deal
Former President Donald Trump stated at a Nevada rally that if he were to return to office, he would redirect "massive portions" of federal law enforcement, including the FBI, ATF, and DEA, to focus on immigration enforcement. He claimed that immigrants coming to the United States are from prisons, mental institutions, and/or are gang members. Trump also mentioned the possibility of moving troops stationed overseas to help control the border. These remarks follow his previous comments about sending large numbers of troops to close the southern border and build immigrant detention camps if he were to serve a second term.
