Bizarre Shoe-Throw Ejects Liberty’s Laney-Hamilton in Narrow Tempo Win
In a bizarre finish to a 93-91 loss to Toronto Tempo, Betnijah Laney-Hamilton threw a teammate’s shoe at Marina Mabrey, earning a technical foul and automatic ejection with 1:48 left. Laney-Hamilton had earlier drawn two techs in the game, plus a flagrant-1 for arm contact with Mabrey. Mabrey hit a late free throw to put Tempo ahead; the Liberty briefly rallied but fell short.
