Stunning Hubble Telescope Photos Showcase Celestial Wonders
The Hubble Space Telescope has captured a stunning image of NGC 1087, a snake-like spiral galaxy located in the constellation Cetus. The galaxy's swirling arms contain both new and old stars, with red tendrils indicating cold molecular gas and blue regions hosting hot stars, including a rare class called Wolf-Rayet. NGC 1087 features a bright-white starry bar at its center, similar to the central bar of our Milky Way. Astronomers use Hubble to study the formation of stars within gas pockets and observe galaxies like NGC 1087 to better understand their size and shape.
