Bulls land Claxton in three-team draft-night swap
The Chicago Bulls acquired center Nic Claxton from the Brooklyn Nets in a three-team trade with Minnesota, sending forward Mouhamadou Gueye to Minnesota while the Timberwolves sent Julius Randle and the No. 28 pick to Brooklyn in exchange for the No. 33 pick. Paperwork can’t be finalized until July 6 due to the league moratorium. Claxton, 27, averaged 11.7 points, 6.9 rebounds and 1.1 blocks last season and brings defensive versatility in the pick-and-roll, though he isn’t a floor-spacer. The deal strengthens Chicago’s frontcourt amid questions about re-signing Zach Collins and keeps the Bulls active with Nos. 4 and 15 in the upcoming draft, armed with about $30 million in cap space.
