Venice Debut of Casey Affleck’s Company Draws Four-Minute Standing Ovation
Casey Affleck’s gothic thriller Company premiered at the Venice Film Festival to a four-minute standing ovation, with Affleck and Nick Nolte visibly moved as cast members looked on and Ben Affleck joining as a producer. The film, set in 1975, follows a mysterious woman who tells the story of an aging hermit who rescues a stranded actress, and it meditates on grief, vengeance, forgiveness and quiet acts of compassion across generations, with Affleck’s son Atticus and brother Indiana also appearing on screen.
