Speedrunner Niftski has achieved a new world record in Super Mario Bros, completing the game in just 4 minutes and 54.631 seconds. This near-perfect run is only 0.366 seconds away from being the absolute fastest possible. The run has been validated by Speedrun.com and sets a new bar for others attempting to achieve a perfect speedrun. The achievement is significant due to the understanding and manipulation of the game's "framerule," which checks completion every 21 frames.
