Nigerian Migrants Head Home as South Africa Repatriations Continue
In the wake of migrant protests in South Africa, 586 Nigerians were processed for repatriation after being found undocumented, with another group due to depart on Monday. They received emergency travel documents from the Nigerian High Commission, and some were declared ‘undesirable’ and banned from reentering SA for five years. South Africa reiterated the need for immigration-law compliance, while Nigerian and regional authorities coordinate the departures and Liberia also voiced concern for its citizens in SA.
