Rapid Rise of AI Deepfake Nude Services Sparks Concern
The use of "AI undressing" services, which involve using generative artificial intelligence tools to remove clothing from images, has seen a significant increase in popularity. Social media analytics company Graphika reported a 2,408% year-on-year increase in the volume of comments and posts containing referral links to websites and Telegram channels offering synthetic Non-Consensual Intimate Images (NCII) services. This rise in AI undressing tools raises concerns about the creation of fake explicit content, targeted harassment, sextortion, and the production of child sexual abuse material (CSAM). The Internet Watch Foundation (IWF) also warned about the potential overwhelming impact of AI-generated child pornography on the internet.
