Neon Acquires Bong Joon Ho’s Debut Animated Feature Ally for 2027 Release
Neon has acquired North American rights to Bong Joon Ho’s debut animated feature Ally, set for a 2027 release. The project marks Bong’s first collaboration with Neon since Parasite and is financed and distributed by CJ ENM, Penture Invest and Pathé (with Pathé handling several European regions and CJ/Penture covering others). Ally, co-written by Bong and Jason Yu and produced by Seo Woo-sik, follows a curious piglet squid named Ally in the South Pacific on a journey to the surface.
