Trump's 2026 Senate Endorsements Threaten GOP Majority
President Trump's recent endorsement choices and public attacks are increasingly viewed as liabilities for the Republican Party in the 2026 Senate races. CNN reports that Trump's support for controversial candidates in Texas, Georgia, and South Carolina, along with his role in pushing Sen. Thom Tillis out of North Carolina, has weakened the GOP's chances of holding the chamber. Polling data indicates significant deficits for these nominees, raising concerns that Trump's actions may cost the party the majority, a pattern similar to the 2020 and 2022 cycles.
