Berkeley Hills Fire Contained After Threatening One Home
A vegetation fire on Panoramic Hill in Berkeley was contained by early afternoon on Tuesday, October 20, 2026. The blaze, which started at 11:45 a.m., spread to between half an acre and three acres, damaging one residential structure. Multiple agencies, including Berkeley and Oakland fire departments, Cal Fire, and the East Bay Regional Park District, responded to the incident. No evacuations were ordered, but road closures were implemented, and authorities urged residents to avoid the area. The fire is located near the site of the 1991 Oakland Hills firestorm.
