Suspect in Playas del Coco Homicide of American Businessman Captured in San José
Costa Rican authorities arrested a 22-year-old woman, identified as Ortiz, suspected of murdering American businessman Marc Walter Fleming in his Playas del Coco condominium. Fleming was found dead on September 27 with head injuries, and investigators allege Ortiz struck him with a blender container during a confrontation. The arrest concludes a two-week search that began after an initial raid on her home failed to locate her. A second suspect, Roxana Zeledón Abarca, was previously detained for allegedly helping Ortiz flee. Investigators are also pursuing three stolen Rolex watches and bank cards used after the killing.
