USA Basketball has announced its 12-player roster for the upcoming FIBA World Cup, featuring a mix of Villanova and Duke players, as well as NBA talent. Despite lacking experience at the international senior level, the US team is considered the favorite to win gold. The team's schedule includes group stage matches against New Zealand, Greece, and Jordan. Golden State's Steve Kerr will serve as the head coach, with assistants Erik Spoelstra, Ty Lue, and Mark Few. In addition to the championship, the tournament offers seven Olympic berths for the best finishes from different regions.
