Camilo Séptimo Keyboardist Jonathan Meléndez and Family Slain in Mexico
Jonathan Meléndez, keyboardist for the Mexican band Camilo Séptimo, was murdered along with his pregnant wife, their three-year-old daughter, and a nanny in their home in Atizapán de Zaragoza, near Mexico City. The killings occurred on September 1, 2026, and authorities arrested two suspects, Diego Sebastián 'N' and Gerardo 'N', who allegedly exploited a relationship of trust to gain access to the residence. A six-year-old boy survived the incident, while the family dog was also found dead. The band confirmed Meléndez's death and issued a tribute, noting his significant contribution to their synth-pop sound since the group's formation in 2013.
