GMO Internet Confirms Data Leak After Refusing $50M Ransom Demand
GMO Internet confirmed that a threat actor has published stolen customer data after the company refused to pay an $8 billion ransom. The breach of the Onamae Desktop Cloud service affected up to 26,739 servers, prompting GMO to urge users to disconnect their computers. While no ransomware was activated, the company is offering compensation and a bounty for information leading to the attackers' arrest.
