OpenAI loosens GPT-5.6 Sol usage limits as demand spikes
OpenAI has temporarily lifted the five-hour usage cap on GPT-5.6 Sol for Plus, Pro, and Business plans after a surge in demand, and issued a one-time reset of current usage. The company is also making GPT-5.6 Sol more efficient so it uses less of the user’s quota and can handle more work before hitting limits, particularly for coding and agentic tasks, though the limit is not fully unlimited.
