Fox seals maiden major with final-hole birdie at the Open
Ryan Fox of New Zealand captured his first major by sinking a 12-foot birdie on the final hole at Royal Birkdale, finishing 2-under 68 to edge Cameron Young by one stroke. Fox tied the lead with a birdie at the 16th, then closed with a clutch birdie on the 18th, becoming the third Kiwi to win a major and the oldest first-time major champion since Henrik Stenson in 2016.
