OpenDLSS-NR Brings DLSS 5 Neural Rendering to RTX 40s and Web Browsers
Developer MAAN released OpenDLSS-NR, an open-source Vulkan reimplementation of NVIDIA's DLSS 5 Neural Rendering that runs on RTX 40 GPUs and web browsers. The project replicates the 71-block neural network with bit-exact accuracy, achieving 7.8ms execution at 1080p on an RTX 4070 Super. While NVIDIA officially supports DLSS 5 only on RTX 50 Series, this mod extends the technology to older hardware and alternative platforms, though it requires separate model weights and lacks game integration.
