Orville Peck told Rolling Stone that he attempted suicide in June 2023 after canceling his Bronco tour, describing a spiral of addiction and coping with alcohol; two days before the cancellation he overdosed, calling the moment a turning point that fueled his forthcoming fourth album Mule, due Sept. 18, with the lead single Too Little Too Late.
