"Tesla Initiates Massive 1.6 Million Car Recall in China for Autopilot and Steering Software Fixes"
Tesla is rolling out an Over-the-Air (OTA) software update to fix issues in 1.6 million vehicles in China, addressing Autopilot driver monitoring enhancements and door latch problems. The update, which is classified as a recall, will also be applied to certain Model S and Model X vehicles to ensure doors remain latched during a crash, complying with safety standards. This follows a similar OTA update issued to vehicles in the United States. Tesla and CEO Elon Musk have suggested revising the term "recall" due to its negative implications, as these software updates do not require physical servicing.
