Siemens Airo Trains Launch on Amtrak Cascades, Boosting Pacific Northwest Capacity
Amtrak Cascades will debut new Siemens Airo trainsets on September 30, 2026, making the Pacific Northwest the first region in the U.S. to receive the fleet. The initial rollout includes two trainsets operating four daily trips between Vancouver, B.C., Seattle, Portland, and Eugene, with a full rollout of eight sets expected by early 2027.
