South Carolina store offers alternative punishment for teenage shoplifters.
Two teenagers caught shoplifting from Palmetto Moon in a South Carolina mall will work for the store instead of facing charges. The boys will donate their wages to the Greenville Police Department and do volunteer work for the agency. Palmetto Moon president Amber Dube said the store wanted to give the teenagers a chance to learn from their mistake and contribute to the community. The boys' parents were heavily involved in finding a solution to the incident, and the teenagers returned the stolen items, apologized, and paid for them.
