Uber introduces new feature allowing unaccompanied teen riders.
Uber will launch a new service in some US and Canadian cities on May 22 that allows minors aged 13 to 17 to ride solo in one of their cars. Passengers will have to use a special family account and parents can monitor the ride live on their own device. The service will automatically make a number of existing safety features mandatory for young riders, including encrypted audio recording of the ride, a pin number before the ride can start, and emergency options if it detects something is wrong.
