
Park Fire arsonist convicted; faces decades behind bars in California
Ronnie Dean Stout II, 44, was convicted of aggravated arson for pushing a burning car into Bidwell Park, sparking the Park Fire in July 2024. The blaze grew into California’s fourth-largest wildfire, burning over 429,000 acres across Butte, Tehama, Plumas and Shasta counties and destroying hundreds of structures, prompting mass evacuations. Stout now faces a prison sentence of 25 years to life, with sentencing set for October 9.
