
Rare parotid cancer surgery leaves UK student with partial facial paralysis
A 21-year-old UK student underwent a six-hour operation to remove a tumor wrapped around facial nerves, waking with paralysis on the left side of her face. Despite months of facial exercises and Botox, she has regained only about 10% movement, but doctors declared her cancer-free after proton therapy and ongoing treatment; she has since resumed her studies and adapted to life after cancer.
