Gary Glitter Denies 1970s Abuse Charges in London Court

British glam rock star Gary Glitter, known legally as Paul Gadd, has pleaded not guilty to eight historical sexual offense charges. The 82-year-old musician appeared via video link from prison at Southwark Crown Court in London on September 2, 2026. Prosecutors allege that Gadd abused a girl between the ages of 8 and 11 during a period spanning from March 1978 to December 1981. The charges include four counts of indecent assault, two counts of sexual intercourse, and two counts of indecency. Judge Tony Baumgartner scheduled a three-week trial to begin on November 22, 2027. Gadd remains in custody pending the trial.
