Oklahoma principal tackles gunman in high school lobby as video surfaces
Newly released surveillance video from Pauls Valley High School shows Principal Kirk Moore sprinting into the lobby, tackling gunman Victor Lee Hawkins with a staffer’s help, and subduing the suspect to prevent further harm. Moore was wounded in the leg but is expected to recover and return to work; Hawkins, 20, a former student, faces multiple charges including shooting with intent to kill and remains in custody on a $1 million bond. The town of about 6,200 residents is expressing gratitude for the principal’s quick action and the absence of additional injuries.
