Elon Musk tops 2025 CEO pay as Tesla profits fall, AFL-CIO finds
AFL-CIO’s 2025 Executive Paywatch shows Elon Musk as the highest-paid CEO, with a personal compensation equivalent to 2,522,203 times the average Tesla worker’s pay. Including Musk, the overall CEO-pay ratio climbs to 5,387:1 (excluding Musk, 312:1). The report comes as Tesla posted a 3% revenue decline in 2025 and a 61% drop in GAAP profits from 2024, highlighting the widening gap between CEO pay and worker compensation amid a challenging year for the company.
