Researchers have found that targeting the interaction between PD-L2 and RGMb can overcome resistance to immunotherapy caused by changes in the gut microbiome. The study found that a specific bacterial strain, Coprobacillus catenaformis, was associated with resistance to immunotherapy, and blocking the PD-L2-RGMb interaction improved response to treatment in mouse models. The findings suggest a potential new strategy for improving the efficacy of cancer immunotherapy.
