The Psychological Condition Behind the Lingering 'Meh' Feeling
Doctors have identified a medical name for the feeling of 'meh' - persistent depressive disorder (PDD), a form of mild depression that affects about 10 million Americans. PDD is characterized by a consistent feeling of sadness, although patients are often able to function and may have short periods of feeling back to normal. Symptoms include poor appetite or overeating, difficulty sleeping, fatigue, low self-esteem, poor concentration, and feelings of hopelessness. PDD can be treated with antidepressants and therapy.
