Pete Byrne, Naked Eyes Frontman Behind 1980s Synth-Pop Hits, Dies at 74
Pete Byrne, the lead vocalist and co-founder of British new wave duo Naked Eyes, died at age 74 in Los Angeles on September 14 after a brief illness. Known for the 1983 hit 'Always Something There to Remind Me,' Byrne achieved significant success in the US and Australia during the MTV era, despite never reaching the UK Top 40. After his partner Rob Fisher died in 1999, Byrne continued recording and touring under the Naked Eyes name until his death.
