UConn launches Phase 1 overhaul of Gampel Pavilion to upgrade basketball home
UConn Athletics announced the Phase 1 renovation of Gampel Pavilion, starting immediately with a roof replacement, a comprehensive Basketball Gameday Suite (recruiting lounge, sports medicine space, team and coaches’ locker rooms, coaches lounge and conference room), upgrades to officials’ locker rooms, a post‑game press space, and new grab‑and‑go concessions to ease crowding; the phase is targeted for completion in November 2026 and is funded by $99.4 million in non-tax revenue from UConn 2000 bonds. Phase 2, planned for March 2027, will add premium gameday spaces and philanthropy-focused areas plus a student‑athlete training table/nutrition; construction manager is DPR Construction, with S/L/A/M Collaborative as lead designer, Legends Global as owner’s representative, and Jack Porter handling graphics.
