Welsh Green deputy quits over Zionism motion, urging party split
Phil Davies, the former deputy leader of the Welsh Green Party, resigned after the party adopted a motion declaring Zionism a form of racism. Davies called the policy 'pointless' and 'idiotic,' arguing it does not materially improve lives in Palestine. He urged Welsh members to split from the English party at a conference next month. Party leader Zack Polanski defended the party against antisemitism claims, while First Minister Rhun ap Iorwerth criticized the motion as 'ill-judged.'
