Oscar-winning actor Anthony Hopkins, 88, is releasing his debut classical album Life Is a Dream via Decca Classics, with Gustavo Dudamel conducting the Philharmonia Orchestra. The collection, built from pieces Hopkins has been composing over six decades, includes the single Bracken Road inspired by his Welsh childhood and family memories, and is set for release on August 21.
88-year-old actor Anthony Hopkins has signed with Decca Classics to release Life Is a Dream, a multi-decade collection of his original compositions performed by the Philharmonia Orchestra and conducted by Gustavo Dudamel. The album’s first single, Bracken Road, draws on Hopkins’s childhood in Margam, Wales, and the project features pieces inspired by Welsh heritage, cinema, his wife, and his niece, with recording completed in April at Alexandra Palace in London.
