Pitch Black Mega Evolution Set Unveiled: 120 Cards, Prereleases, and Cosmos Foil Promos
The fifth English Mega Evolution set, Pitch Black, is due July 17 with prereleases July 4–12. At 120 cards, it’s the smallest Mega Evolution set so far, with rarity adjustments (Miraidon, Koraidon, and Zarude now Holos) and the removal of Zarude’s Illustration Rare from the main set. The release follows Japan’s single-set approach amid global printing shortages, and promotions include Primarina, Zarude, and Armarouge with the 30th anniversary “What’s Your Favorite?” stamp printed on cosmos holofoil. Promo distribution varies by retailer (Primarina at Hot Topic/Barnes & Noble/BoxLunch; Zarude at GameStop/EB Games; Armarouge at Best Buy/JB Hi-Fi), available with a $15+ purchase.
