Tristan Peters’ 18-pitch walk against Gavin Williams lasted about seven minutes and sparked the White Sox’ six-run sixth in a 7-3 win over the Guardians; with a pitch clock, that plate appearance would likely have stretched roughly 68 seconds longer, illustrating how timing changes can magnify long at-bats. It set the White Sox’ record for the longest official plate appearance, with only a handful of players recording longer ones, and prompted discussion about broadcasts, pacing, and the quirks of game-day production.
