Meta to Launch Stand-Alone Twitter Competitor.
Meta's chief product officer, Chris Cox, appeared to mock Elon Musk during an all-hands meeting while discussing the company's upcoming Twitter competitor, codenamed "Project 92." Cox said that creators and public figures wanted a "platform that is sanely run" and a "stable place to build and grow their audiences." Meta's new platform will reportedly work with other apps like Mastodon and Bluesky because it uses the same protocol, ActivityPub, which is made up of decentralized servers.
