Golders Green stabbing survivor calls his survival a miracle
A Jewish man, Shloime Rand, survived a stabbing in Golders Green and told the BBC it felt like a miracle; he and 76-year-old Moshe Shine were attacked, with 45-year-old Essa Suleiman in custody on suspicion of attempted murder. Rand awaits discharge after chest injuries; police say the suspect has a history of violence and mental health issues and had a Prevent referral in 2020 that was closed. The government announced an additional £25m for security around Jewish sites, bringing total security funding to £58m this year, as leaders including Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer and the Board of Deputies push to confront antisemitism.
