Windows 11's admin tools get a WinUI 3 makeover with a new Print Management app
Microsoft is testing a WinUI 3–based Print Management app in Windows 11, signaling a broader move to modernize older admin tools away from the legacy MMC interfaces. Currently visible in Germanium-based beta/experimental builds and requiring manual Run as administrator, the app appears as a standalone Windows app rather than an MMC snap-in and isn’t yet a full replacement. The effort to rewrite older dialogs and tools in WinUI 3 continues, suggesting a longer-term push toward a more cohesive and consistent Windows 11 UI, even if some dialogs remain streamlined in the old style for now.
