Oxford votes to end Flock cameras, signaling regional shift away from license-plate readers
Oxford City Council voted 6-1 to end its Flock license-plate reader program, citing resident trust in the police, concerns about data usage and ongoing surveillance, and fears about how data could be used by other jurisdictions. The move makes Oxford the first southwest Ohio city to drop the program, with other Cincinnati-area and Northern Kentucky jurisdictions also ending their contracts.
