Ace Combat 8 Sets Steam Record Despite Belkan War Controversy
Ace Combat 8: Wings of Theve achieved the series' highest PC launch peak with over 52,000 concurrent players on Steam, topping global sales charts. However, the launch was marred by controversy over the pre-order bonus, Ace Combat Zero: The Belkan War, which was bundled as DLC rather than a standalone title on PC due to licensing issues. The developer, Project Aces, apologized for the confusion and is currently exploring options to release the older title separately on Steam. Despite the backlash, the game maintains a 'Mostly Positive' review score, with players praising the dogfights and campaign but citing performance issues and the lack of VR support.
