Nirmal Purja among victims of Broad Peak avalanche in Pakistan
Renowned Nepali mountaineer Nirmal 'Nimsdai' Purja and nine others were killed when an avalanche struck Broad Peak in Pakistan. Rescuers had located three bodies—Pur Bahadur Gurung, Nadhira Al Harthy and Mallory Geis—by Friday as weather hampered search efforts, with further attempts ongoing to locate additional climbers from the 10-strong expedition.
