AstraZeneca partners with Quell Therapeutics for cell therapies in autoimmune diseases.
AstraZeneca has partnered with Quell Therapeutics to develop regulatory T cell therapies for type 1 diabetes and inflammatory bowel disease. As part of the deal, AstraZeneca will pay Quell $85m upfront, with a potential $2bn in downstream milestones, plus royalties. Quell will manufacture the therapies until the end of the first clinical trials, after which AstraZeneca has the option to license, develop and commercialize the treatments.
