Colorado Shooting Victims to Sue Authorities Over Red Flag Law Failure
Survivors and relatives of those killed in the Colorado Springs mass shooting plan to sue the El Paso County Sheriff's Office for failing to obtain a red flag order against the suspect, Anderson Aldrich, who killed five people and injured 22 others at Club Q in November 2022. The victims are seeking more than $160 million in damages. Aldrich had been arrested in 2021 for threatening their grandparents and vowing to become the "next mass killer," but charges were dropped over a year later, allowing them to legally buy guns.
