IRS Implements Long-Awaited Improvements for Easier Tax Filing
The IRS has introduced improvements to make tax filing simpler for next year, including the ability for taxpayers to electronically upload all correspondence and documents, an improved "Where's My Refund" tracker, increased phone service availability, and extended hours at in-person tax help centers. These changes aim to enhance the taxpayer experience and reduce errors and processing times. The IRS estimates that 94% of American taxpayers won't have to mail documents to the agency anymore, and Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen believes these improvements will save time and effort for taxpayers.
