Patriots Deplete Wide Receiver Corps as Hollins, Gilliam Hit IR
The New England Patriots placed starting wide receiver Mack Hollins and fullback Reggie Gilliam on injured reserve on Saturday, October 10, 2026. Both players will miss at least four games due to calf and ankle/knee injuries, respectively. To fill the resulting roster spots, the team activated safety Brenden Schooler from the non-football injury list and signed cornerback Kindle Vildor from the practice squad. Additionally, safety Elliott Davison and linebacker K.J. Britt were elevated from the practice squad. These moves leave the Patriots with only four active wide receivers for their upcoming Week 5 game against the Las Vegas Raiders. Quarterback Drake Maye will now rely on Romeo Doubs, Efton Chism, DeMario Douglas, and Kyle Williams. A.J. Brown, who has been on injured reserve since Week 1, is eligible to return in Week 6. The Patriots did not make any moves at running back, signaling that Rhamondre Stevenson is expected to play. Tight ends Cameron Latu and Tanner Arkin are expected to assume larger blocking roles in the absence of Gilliam.
