Fairphone Fairbuds 2 Set for October 14 Launch with Modular Repairability and LDAC Support
Fairphone will officially unveil the Fairbuds 2 on October 14, 2026, following earlier leaks and a teaser post on X. The new wireless earbuds retain the original model’s core focus on repairability, featuring seven fully replaceable and modular parts. A key upgrade is the addition of support for Sony’s high-resolution and adaptive LDAC Bluetooth codec, expanding beyond the SBC and AAC codecs supported by the first-generation Fairbuds. The Fairbuds 2 will launch first in Europe at €119, followed by a US release at $119. This is a price increase from the original Fairbuds, which debuted in 2024 at €149 (approximately $162) but have since dropped to $99.99 in the US.
