BYU Keeps Wright III, Turns Down Kentucky After Visit
Rob Wright III, the No. 1 point guard in the transfer portal, has elected to return to BYU after a visit to Kentucky. Kentucky hosted Wright amid heavy pursuit, but he left Lexington without committing, and BYU reportedly had quiet confidence he would stay in Provo. The saga highlights the ongoing transfer portal reshaping of college basketball, as Kentucky continues to pursue other targets like Zoom Diallo (with a substantial offer on the table) while Arizona also chased Diallo before he committed elsewhere. Wright’s decision solidifies BYU’s position in the portal as the offseason progresses.
